This track season is starting to make me very angry we just had another meet cancelled and it was my favorite meet of the season . It was cancelled because our team didn't want to run in the cold and rain and it didn't even rain that day and it wasn't below 40 degrees and we practice outside unless it is below 32 degrees. My friends and I voted to go to the meet but it was the rest of the team that didn't want to go, I personally thought that they were just to lazy to get up on a Saturday morning but that's just me. My weight training is supposed to start back up after this weekend but it might be hard to find a schedule that fits my practices everyday and my meets. I will be going to the Clemmons YMCA. There is now 13 meets left in the season which is including states and I feel pretty confident on my ability to make it there considering that I did during winter. This would't stop my work ethic though. Since my meet was cancelled again to make up for it our team is holding a team meet on Monday that we will treat like a normal meet. I will be running the 100, 200, and 110 hurdles. I can't wait to get a race in because it's been to long since I have.
I'm kind of upset because my meet was cancelled for this week due to weather. I was really hoping to record my first time in the 110 and 300 hurdles and see where I ranked against the other athletes in North Carolina. But that didn't happen so I guess I'll do that at the meet next week which is a relay meet. I can't wait for that meet, it's a meet that only consist of relay races and my favorite race is in that meet. It is called the hurdle relay. It is a complicated race but no matter because it is still fun to run. This weeks practice was decently hard because it was my first week back. I was told to keep up with the rest of the
My first week of practice was not the best. I got sick on Wednesday afternoon which lead to a bad first day of practice on Thursday. I did really bad because I was still sick and I was getting worse by the day. It was February 14th and I got worse more. This later became one of the worst practices I have ever had. After this practice I immediately to the doctor. They told me that I had a fever of 103 and I had a pulled muscle in my hip and I was told to stay off the track and out of the gym. This made me really upset knowing that there was a meet next week that I wouldn't be as prepared for if I didn't get injured. I stayed in the hospital until 3am Friday morning. Over my injury week I served as a mini-coach for the younger hurdlers helping them out with their form and making them a better runner overall. I was able to comeback next Friday and my first practice back wasn't the best but it was an awaking for me showing that I needed to work harder to catch up with the rest of the team. My first week wasn't the best but it was a good learning curve.
